Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology of the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. The university is widely acknowledged for developing the first modern-day research into the study of eyewitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in legal situations. Professor Goodman has published extensively, received many grants and was awarded many international and national awards. She has collaborated with a variety of authorities and organisations all over the world to conduct policy and research pertaining to children who have been victims of the justice system. She works as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She also is a founding participant of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy Practice Division and the Society for Child Policy American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
